so this is my first few rough sketches for the city for what if metropolis I'm still unsure on how to approach the design of the city but hoping to find some equilibrium in the art style

Hi Coyle, these thumbnails are really difficult to see, the eye draws more towards the numbers rather than the designs. Have a whirl of making the line work of your thumbnails darker and try putting the numbers on the black borders instead of the box inside the thumbnails.
