animation-coin and pendulum motion

Image
Today we are doing arc and coin animation tests the coin motion animation i have here was a test of even spaced coin animation compared to a gradually spacing out coin motion animation. we also had to do a arc animation of 3 kinds:  1st "going form left to right": is how a pendulum animation is done using even spacing in the animation. 2nd" going straight across" is the wrong type of pendulum animation to produce. while the 3rd is used to show again a pendulum animation with greater spacing. here is some screenshots of the work as i was going through it along with the onion skins of the finish product:

movie reveiw- mertopolis

metropolis is a 1920 science fiction movie set in a furtusic city which has a heavily severe class divide leading the richer side of the city to live above ground while the working labor class is forced underground is very basic living conditions, only to come to the surface to work on the machines that power the entire city constantly. the Film uses Marxism as the main theme as seen from the class divide and the mental states of each side of the city showing how the communist divide that was made impacted the city so servelry. one of the scene from the film shows a metaphorical form of sacrifice to the large machine that countless workers were working on each ether being pushed into the machine or willingly be fed to the machine, just to then transition back to what the machine looks like and with workers being transported on stretchers. while on the other side of the economic divide of this futuristic city it goes to a rooftop garden where the wealthy class is seen pretty much

Diomira

Image
here is my concept thumbnails for Diomira , i tired to follow the example style used by the teacher, but that came with no results, so for the time being im sort of sticked to line art for this city to get through it( i also did one on paper as i was curious what effect it would have on production of the thumbnail sketches.  as for the look of the city i thought of it being a large futuristic city made entirely of gold with fair hints of religious features. i did want to molded it after the Vatican in Rome but it didn't stick, so i kept the towers but replaced them with domes like in the description. and here is my influence map for this city! :

movie review- calagari

the movie "the cabinet of Caligari is a silent film from the year 1920, following the story of Dr. Caligari and Francis going through the death of Francis's friend Alan. what was first striking upon entering the film was the background and buildings around them were severely distorted and pointed to the extreme, and after researching it is now made clear that the building represents the mental state of the current population published not long after world war 1.  expressionist architecture was quite popular in Germany which leads to Robert Wiene to push this genre of architecture to the extremes with size shape and texture “ The film, as a result, presents us with a dark and twisted world with distorted shapes and angles. This expressive style presents us with a grotesque worldview – buildings are slanted, doors and windows are unusually shaped, and walls and floors consist of schizophrenic patterns and designs.”[1] one a minor note what was interesting to see in the movie

Baucis

unlike the first city that I did, I tried a new method for these thumbnail sketches, I'm not too sure that I am going to use this method for the next cities thumbnail sketches, I probably will depending on how quick I got through them would determine the outcome of the thumbnails to the concept art. here is the mood board that I did for Baucis:

enviroment-invisible cities thumbnail sketches

Image
so this is my first 14 thumbnail sketches involving the city: Armilla. I was a bit nervous at first how I was going draw it and plan it in the first two sketches, but as soon as I got to the 3rd image I was a lot more sure on how I was planning it out even though they are a rough draft I love the look of the design.

warframe concept test

Image
warframe was a game developed by the company "Digital Extremes". the game originally started as " dark sector" a dark sci-fi game created around 2005, but during the development of the game that budget ran out. so a directional change in the change of the art and game had to happen. so after many adjustments, warframe was introduced in 2013 also with concept and art style that I whole hearty love/ in a form of a sci-fi fantasy with animation quests and trailers for models known as "prime warframes" the prime trailer while short, present a new slicker model to the game known as "prime-warframe" even though theses frames don't have that much significance in the overall game. these animated trailers reveal more to this universe then what originally knew before and add some depth to existing characters "warframe's attempt at a horror quest" the story quests that warframe offer are stunning the animation flow i
